The 2014 growing season began early with a warm and dry spring. We were fortunate to have a moderately mild summer with foggy mornings, which delayed ripening. Once it was time to harvest there was no break in the picking.
2014 is only the second vintage we have bottled wine from this vineyard (planted in 2008). This is by far our most feminine vineyard characterized by a delicate balance of tantalizing acidity and red fruit. This vintage is more extroverted than in 2013 bursting with pepper, sandalwood and eucalyptus complemented by plum, strawberry, raspberry and mint. At this stage the wine comes alive when decanted for a couple hours or cellar for many years to come.
