The Emeritus Team
Ted Elliot
As Vice President of Finance and Chief Operating Officer at Emeritus, Ted Elliot' vision and passion help define the future of the company, while ensuring the continuation of its commitment to quality and excellence. His duties touch on every aspect of the company, from finance and winery operations to marketing and sales. Ted approaches every new challenge from a basic premise. "There are no small decisions. Every choice in the wine business is a long-term decision. From barrel selection to vineyard planting, you need to be thinking in terms of five, ten, even fifteen years. It's my job to find a way to execute the big ideas while maintaining our commitment to the smallest details."
Previously, Ted was President at Sonoma-Cutrer Vineyards, working there for twenty years and holding several positions, including Executive Vice President, General Manager, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Operating Officer. One of the first full-time employees at Sonoma-Cutrer, Ted functioned as a jack-of-all-trades, quickly making himself indispensable in the day-to-day operations in the winery.
Prior to joining Sonoma-Cutrer in 1983, Ted was the Co-Founder and President of Carmanet Winery in Sonoma. Before receiving his B.A. from Yale University and his M.B.A. from Stanford University in 1971, Ted was a former scuba diver for the U.S. Navy during Vietnam.
