Only a single spectacular barrel was bottled from the 2013 vintage to honor the long relationship between Aubert de Villaine and Brice Jones (of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti and Emeritus fame respectively). This one-of-a-kind Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir perfectly captures the Old and New world sensibilities of these two iconic vintners. With only a handful of magnums bottled, this is an extremely limited release wine that will age gracefully for years to come.
With personalities as distinctive as the vintners themselves, two radically different clones were grown in a remote vineyard high above the Pacific Ocean. Clone 115 brings elegance, perfume, high-toned fruit, and length, while clone 828 contributes a brambly, brushy, rustic power to the wine. The remote site imbues the wine with an earthy, woodsy, coastal forest sweetness. There is a confident and timeless quality to this rare pinot, and, at five years of age, the 2013 Aubert & Brice is just beginning to show what it’s made of. Lay this wine down, and save it for the most special of occasions.
