Vineyard Manager Kirk and President of Fun Mari will take you on an in depth walking tour of the Hallberg Ranch estate vineyard (one of the largest dry-farmed vineyards in the state) to taste the difference in clones. Hallberg Ranch has eleven different clones of Pinot Noir planted. Clones are cuttings made from Pinot Noir vines that overtime have developed slight genetic differences. These differences are expressed by varying flavor profiles. Our wine is made by blending them together, but as we approach harvest and the fruit ripens the difference between these selections becomes most apparent. Kirk and Mari will take you through the vines to taste the grapes of many clones right at the cusp of harvest. This is a unique experience for the geekiest of wine geeks and novice drinkers alike.
After the vineyard tour you’ll be treated to a special tasting paired with local snacks on our terrace overlooking the vineyard.
