Hallberg Ranch

The Hallberg Ranch is located in the Lower reach of the Russian River Valley, on the Gold Ridge—a geological formation about eight miles long between Sebastopol and Forestville to the north.

The area is also subject to the marine layer—the same fog bank that affects San Francisco from late August until early October. The marine layer keeps the nighttime temperatures in the vineyard under 50’F at night, which permits the grapes to mature over a long period of time in near–perfect balance.

With the addition of the 25 years–plus of experience of the Emeritus Team, we find ourselves at the rare, but fortuitous, intersection of exceptional soils, climate, and man. We believe it shows in the finished wine.
